The project develops a mobile sensing kit in a form of a glove allowing users to collect environmental readings and biofeedback data (heart rate) from their immediate surroundings by using sensors to record: air quality, temperature, humidity and light. The main components of the hardware prototype implementation are an Arduino-based micro controller board, a GPS chip and sensors. A very important part of the project is the application (app) we have developed for a smart phone that acts an interface and via Bluetooth to receive the sensors data information. The smart phone app also sends the sensor recordings and the location of the users to a cloud service that allows for online geo-referenced maps to be produced with the user’s data recordings.
