The ethos of bioMATTERS is to collaborate with living systems and promote bio-circular approaches to design and biofabrication as an alternative to modern industrial design and manufacturing processes, which consume high amounts of energy and natural resources. We merge 3D prinitng and computational design strategies with living systems innoculation and growth. We employ digital techniques to visualize and simulate biological systems and manipulate biological datasets. We have been biofabricating a series of modular systems and objects using digital additive manufacturing methods by using proprietary waste bio substrates inoculated with living systems aiming towards bio-based enhanced material properties.
